The Chau Hoi Shuen Awards support collaborative research between UC Berkeley labs and labs in China. The award will facilitate interactions between the Lewis Lab and the lab of Dr. Weihua Tang, at the Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Chinese Academy of Science. Yuan will focus on using Brachypodium as a model system for the study of plant disease and immunity in wheat.
